Mrs Lucy Champion

I had the pleasure of doing Lucy’s hair for a wedding she was attending back in September 2017, she really loved the style so decided to book me for her wedding day in July 2018.

We booked her in for her trial in April and Lucy really knew what she wanted so it was really easy to get a beautiful hair do that tied in with her wedding theme.

Lucy came in a few days before to have her nails done in Gel polish for her wedding day, she went for a very natural pink colour which really suited her! Lucy is such a natural beauty and I definately think less is more! We went for an Opi Gel Polish in the shade ‘Passion’.

The day came around so quick, I arrived at Brookfield Barn with the amazing Jenna Marie Makeup Artistry to get Lucy and her Bride Tribe wedding ready! The weather was absolutely stunning and the grounds looked perfect. Brookfield Barn has a really lovely ‘Prep Room’ for Brides & their Bridesmaids to get ready in which is perfect.

I started by styling the Bridesmaid’s hair. Lucy’s sister and both her Sister In Law’s to be. They went for a simple bun style with added Gypsophilia.

I prepped Lucy’s hair in Pin curls to ensure they would last the day and evening! Doesn’t she look glamorous?!

Lucy’s mum has short fine hair but wanted a nice messy texturised style that would be off her shoulders in the heat! I added volume and Grit to her hair by using my trusty Toni & Guy texturising spray.

The Bridesmaids were all ready, the Champagne was poured. Lucy was super chilled, so it was time to get our Bride all ready for her Husband to be! The atmosphere was lovely in the room, with a beautiful Soundtrack which I haven’t stopped listening to since- Amber Leigh Irish, her voice is out of this world!

Lucy had a great team around her, the amazing Jenna Marie Stannard on Makeup, and so lovely to have a fellow scouser on Photography, the lovely Louise Griffin Photography, go and check them out on Social Media!

I removed Lucy’s Pin-curls and then started to style……

Thankyou Beautiful Lucy for letting us be a part of getting you ready on one of the most special days of your life! You were an absolute dream to do hair for!

Wishing Mr & Mrs Champion a lifetime of Love and Happiness! X

Mrs Crystal Hopkins

The beautiful Crystal contacted me 2 weeks before her wedding in a desperate panic for a Hairstylist for her wedding day. So with some moving around and sorting some other clients I managed to get the time to do it. We arranged her trial for a few days later…..

Crystal had a large Bridal Tribe for me to get ready & I was doing this one alone! A Bride, 5 Bridesmaids, Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom! Yes, I am crazy haha!

I decided to Pin curl all the Bridesmaids on the Friday to save time and it was lovely having them all in and getting to know them before the wedding.

Myself and the super talented Jenna Marie Makeup Artistry (go check her out on Social Media) made our way to Buxted Park for 6.30am. A stunning big manor house in the countryside.

We were shown to the Bridal suite which was just amazing! As soon as myself and Jenna arrived it started to hit Crystal that today she was marrying her Prince and it got a bit real, there were a few tears shed but as soon as she was in the chair you could see the excitement on her face!

At Crystal’s trial she stated that she would love to have rollers in her hair on her Wedding morning……being from Liverpool where the girl’s do their shopping in them of course I was thrilled that she wanted them!

As the morning went on in between me working on all the Bridesmaids, Crystal was receiving gifts from her Hubby to be! Very romantic and we all wished we were marrying him too! From Perfume, to thoughtful verses and this amazing Gucci watch. You can see that this beauty is extremely special to her man!

For the Bridesmaids Crystal wanted them to have a Side do with a braid and they looked amazing on all the girls!

Emotions were running high all morning but a lot more when Crystal’s step son came in to hand Crystal some flowers! Not going to lie, even I shed a tear on that bit :).

I snapped away the whole morning in between doing hairstyles and managed to get some precious memories.

The morning went by quick and it was suddenly time to put Crystal’s veil in! She looked absolutely stunning! A beautiful lady inside and out…….

Crystal, Thankyou so much for contacting me to do Hair for your wedding day! It was an absolute pleasure, you made myself and Jenna feel so welcome and you were all such lovely people to have a laugh with!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Hopkins! X

Beautiful Mrs Runyard

Priya contacted me in April to do hair for her wedding on the 9th June 2018, is was short notice but thankfully I had that date free. The reason it was so short notice was that Priya was planning her wedding in 8 weeks! Yes- 8 weeks! While some thought she was absolutely bonkers…..she did it!

We arranged a trial and along she came. First impressions were that Priya is a very laid back person who loves the simple things in life! And that showed in the style that she chose. I could tell that Priya really didn’t care what she looked like on the day because she knew her husband to be loved her for who she was. She even told me she wouldn’t care getting married in her pyjamas :), and isn’t that what love is all about? Loving each other for everything you are. Priya has quite low confidence and I really wish she didn’t as you can tell by the pictures coming up how gorgeous she is and she has a very good sense of humour as did all her family.

On makeup was the very talented Melissa Lilly Sharp, we arrived at Priya’s parents’ house on Saturday 9th June, the weather was nice and hot with a breeze. Priya’s mum and dad made us all feel very welcome offering Tea, Coffee and toast throughout the morning and even letting us taste some yummy Indian food later in the day. The banter was amazing between family members who had travelled a long way to be there for Priya’s special day.

The morning went by very quick and all the styles were done and secured. My lovely friend and assistant Gail Hodges arrived to do Priya’s aunts hair and she did such an amazing job at adding volume to her short thin hair.

The Bridesmaids went for a beautiful low plaited up-do which looked so elegant with their dresses and Priya’s Mum went for a French twist.

Priya was all glammed up so I went upstairs along with her mum and sister to help her get into her wedding dress….

Priya, you looked absolutely stunning on your wedding day and I really hope you felt it :).

Wishing Mr & Mrs Runyard lots of Love and happiness in their marriage! Thankyou for choosing me to be a part of your Wedding morning! X

The new Mrs Burchell

The gorgeous Kate first contacted me in March this year. I had done quite a few styles on her Mum Sue’s hair for events so it was an honour to do Kate’s hair for her special day.

Upon meeting Kate I could immediately tell that she was a laid back bride who knew what she wanted! The first style we tried was exactly what she wanted and the trial couldn’t have gone better. She was amazing at telling me how she wanted it and I did just that. So we were really pleased with the end result & I couldn’t wait to recreate it on the day…….

It was a beautiful sunny day on the 26th May 2018 and I arrived at Kate’s parent’s house, a beautiful bright house, with a garden to die for!

The lovely Melissa Lilly Sharp was already at work on the Makeup and I started by Pin curling Kate’s gorgeous long blonde locks.

Kate seemed so excited, as you would be on your wedding day. But the way she spoke about her husband to be, you could just tell how much they love each other!

I then let Kate’s pin curls set as they were to be a great foundation for her style. So I started on her gorgeous mum Sue’s hair. Since I met Sue last year I have loved it when she comes back to have her hair done, she is one of the most loveliest women I have met and really made everyone feel so welcome. Sue has very thin hair but wanted a nice up-do to the side and to add a fascinator to go with her dress.

I particularly loved how Kate and Sue’s hair pieces were very similar aswel. Perfect for Mother & Daughter.

It was time to start taking out Kate’s Pins and styling her hair. The atmosphere was great in the house with family members all showing their support to Kate, it reminded me a lot of my family, very close knit and welcoming.

Check out those curls!!!

It definately wasn’t complete without Kate’s hair piece! It was perfect for this style!

And then the gorgeous Kate got makeup done with the very talented Melissa Lilly Sharp and her look was complete, but not until her stunning dress was on!

Here comes the Bride…….

Doesn’t she look absolutely beautiful?!

I would like to Thank the Gravett family for making me feel very welcome in your home, it was great chatting to you all, such a lovely family!

And wishing the new Mr & Mrs Burchell a lifetime of Love & Happiness!

The Beautiful Mrs Smith

The gorgeous Natalie messaged me back in December of 2016……super organised bride, for her wedding day taking place in May 2018.

Word of mouth had done the rounds of my creative flair and Natalie came saying she had heard I was the one to do her hair for her special day! What an honour it is to be chosen to do such a big thing for a Brides wedding day! So of course I jumped at the chance and within a few months Natalie had paid in full a year in advance!

We spoke lots over the year and I knew that this day would just be so perfect! Natalie had everything in hand and she is a lady who knows what she wants……that is until the venue cancelled her wedding!!!! BUT, all was well as the venue changed to another gorgeous location, The Felbridge Hotel and Spa.

We arranged her trial for 31st March 2018 and Natalie came in bearing gifts! Prosecco and maltesers! My faves. I felt like I had known Natalie for years, you know when you just click with a person?! Natalie brought her gorgeous friend Kimberley along for some moral support and with her being a Hairdresser it was lovely to have her input into the styles too, she also did such a beautiful job at doing Natalie’s Bridesmaid’s hair on the day aswel!

Natalie had a really great team around her to help on her wedding morning, Saturday 12th May 2018.

Melissa Lilly Sharp was on makeup and did a stunning job on everyone’s faces, I love working with Makeup artists who are friends too, but honestly she is one of the best in the business and I am always blown away with how amazing people look after.

So with us on the Glam team, Kimberley on Bridesmaids hair, me concentrating on the gorgeous Bride, Melissa on makeup they were sure to be wedding glam in no time at all!

The atmosphere in the room was very calm and there was lots of laughter as Natalie’s nearest and dearest came in to see how she was feeling.

We went for a stunning Half up half down style and I added a beautiful Hair vine and it set the whole look off perfectly!

I started by adding a few Hair extensions for length and seriously, you just cannot tell, so we were so pleased with them. I then curled using a 38mm tong and pinned them all in place to set.

And I created this wonderful masterpiece……

Natalie, Thankyou so, so much for letting me be a part of getting you wedding ready! It was an absolute pleasure being there for you and I wish Mr & Mrs Smith all the best for the future!

Mrs Kirstie Stow…

Kirstie contacted me in January saying that her friend Jenna (aka Jenna Marie Makeup Artistry) had been singing my praises, you will see me talk a lot about Jenna in other blogs as we get to work together a lot on weddings!

We arranged a trial for Kirstie & Jenna (who was a Bridesmaid) for the end of February. Kirstie knew that she 100% wanted a wide plait side do, so I worked my magic and we got it first try! Yay!

For the Bridesmaids we went for something on trend but that had a little twist to tie in with Kirstie’s hair.

Kirstie had a lot of worry over the condition of her hair as she was trying to go blonde in a short amount of time. There was panic as to wether we would need to change her Bridal style but all was perfect in the end.

A few days before the wedding Kirstie came and had some Classic eyelash extensions done and throughout everything she was so super organised and laid back!

The night before the wedding I went to Ghyll cottage where Kirstie, her 5 bridesmaids and mum were staying. I decided to pincurl their hair the night before to save time in the morning as they were having an early wedding. It was such a lovely atmosphere, Pincurls and Prosecco went down a treat, with happy tears from the bride to be getting gifts and cards from her friends.

Kirstie’s big day was finally here- Saturday 5th May 2018. Myself and my assistant Gail Hodges arrived at the cottage nice and early to start styling hair. Everybody was excited and in good spirits and I couldn’t wait to recreate the styles we had chosen at her trial.

The styling went well and even though Kirstie was worried about the condition of her hair it looked amazing!

The dutch braid fanned out perfect and the curls were beautiful and bouncy. Jenna then worked her magic on Kirstie’s makeup.

The Bridesmaid’s hair were finished off with some fresh gypsophila, and it was time to get those dresses on……..

Didnt they all look so beautiful?!

Wishing Mr & Mrs Stow lots of love, luck & happiness for the future! Thankyou for choosing me to be a part of your wedding morning, it was a pleasure! X

The New Mrs Byatt

The lovely Rhiannon got in contact with me back in July 2017 asking if I was available to do her hair for her wedding day in August 2018…

The date of the wedding soon had to be brought forward as August 2018 is now Rhiannon’s due date! Her and Karl are expecting a baby girl! Congratulations!

I booked Rhiannon in for her Bridal trial on the 19th February and we went through some styles she had chosen, we both agreed some hair extensions would be great to add length and volume so I recommended some Foxylocks hair extensions and as always, they were perfect!

The day was finally here, Saturday 14th April, Rhiannon and Karl’s wedding day. I got to their beautiful home in Broadbridge heath where Karl and their photographer who are both in the military were there to greet anyone coming into the house.

I went into the front room where Rhiannon had friends and her family with her. I started by Pin curling her hair with my trusty Electric Head Jog titanium waver. Rhiannon was very calm, they certainly had the weather for it that day, gorgeous blue sky, the sun was shining and it was lovely and warm, perfect day for a wedding!

I took Rhiannon’s pin curls out and started styling. She wanted a nice thick dutch braid at the side of her up-do, so for some grip to make the braid stay in place I used the new L’oreal ‘The braid milk’, this stuff smells divine, it has coconut extract so will remind you of summer days! I then pinned all of Rhiannon’s beautiful curls up to form a gorgeous volumised updo.

I also helped with Rhiannon’s beautiful daughter’s hair who was so amazing at sitting still whilst I did.

I really enjoyed chatting with Rhiannon and her friends and family are all so lovely and welcoming. Thankyou for letting me be a part in getting your hair wedding ready for your special day. I wish you lots of Love and happiness for your future and lots of luck on the birth of the new Baby Byatt very soon!

Here are some pictures taken by myself of the morning x

The Beautiful Mrs Brown

I first met Kaz on her Bridal trial on Saturday 17th February, she brought along her Mum and Maid of honour Charli for support and their opinions on styles.

Kaz’s hair is just below shoulder length and quite thin but there is lots of it. We tried some styles with some extensions and chose the perfect one for Kaz, she knew that she wanted a half up half down style and that was the perfect choice!

Maid of honour Charli, who Kaz has been friends with since 2007 (the same year she met husband to be Simon) went for a loose style which we trialled but then changed on the morning of the wedding to one of my more recent customised styles that Charli had loved, which looked amazing on the day, so we perfected it with some fresh Gypsophilia.

Upon meeting Kaz I came to realise what a lovely, kind-hearted lady she is and she really doesn’t know how wonderful she is…..So Kaz you need to start believing it ;). I really enjoyed our chats whilst I did your Eyelash extensions and hearing all about your wedding plans, and your little family, Husband to be Simon & your boys.

The day was finally here……Saturday 7th April 2018. I made my way to the stunning Highley Manor which is a gorgeous English Manor house in Sussex being both picturesque and traditional.

I went up to Kaz’s Bridal Suite to start getting the Bride and Maid of Honour ready. We had a few hiccups in regards to Kaz’s hair extensions along the way with her new set being stolen from her friends car, then another beautiful hearted lady very kindly gave Kaz some, but sadly they came out the wrong shade the day before the wedding day. Eeeeek! So we had a last minute emergency and I just thought with all the bad luck Kaz had had- today was not the day for that to happen. So we managed to get our hands on some extensions (the ones Kaz originally brought to her trial) and they were curled and pinned (how they kept their curl I do not know!), but I promised Kaz that whatever happened she would look and feel beautiful, and that she did!

Myself and the phenomenal Jenna Marie Makeup-Artistry where alternating Kaz and Charli in the chair for hair and makeup and I’d say we nailed it!

Kaz and Charli, I speak on behalf of myself and Jenna when I say it was our pleasure to get you both wedding ready. Beautiful ladies with Hearts of gold who have a lovely friendship.

Wishing Mr & Mrs Brown and their Family lots of Love, Luck & Happiness for the future 🥂.

Your Bridal Trial.

Hi Everyone!

Happy New Year! How fast did 2017 go?!

Welcome to my blog and Congratulations if you are newly engaged! I thought now would be a perfect time to do this blog in the run up to my many Bridal trials, so I hope this will make you more prepared for it and answer any questions you may have.

Why you need a Bridal trial….

Hair trials are really important in the run up to your wedding. It helps you to get to know each other and it gives your stylist the opportunity to ‘get to know’ your hair and know what styles will or won’t work for you, in order to give you a look that you love! After-all, it is your wedding day! I personally do 3/4 different styles of the Bride’s choice as choice is the most important thing! You can’t really go by one hairstyle if you haven’t tried a few!

When should I have my trial?

Some Brides like to have their trials up to a year before their big day, but even three to four months before is absolutely fine.

I tend to keep my day quite free when I have Bridal trials because I will do quite a few styles, so make sure you don’t schedule in anything for like an hour or so after it. A Bridal trial cannot be rushed.

Be prepared…

It is super helpful for the appointment if you have done your research and already have an idea of what you want. I also do a consultation with you where I ask questions such as what the theme of the wedding is, wether it be a Hollywood glam or rustic theme to determine wether you need a red carpet look, or a soft boho look. A lot of Brides will show me their dress if already purchased, so I will always give advice or ideas into styles that I think would be perfect for with the dress.

What to do with your hair before the trial…

My most asked question is “How do you want my hair?”.

Please, please have 2 day old hair or wash it the night before, freshly washed hair won’t hold the style as well as the grips tend to slip. We do not want that on your wedding day, we need this style to last all day and evening! Do not put any product in it as I will use plenty on the day ;). If you find that you have curly or kinky baby hairs (the really annoying wispy bits around your hairline), then I just ask you to straighten them out as much as you can as you can get closer than me!

What you should bring to your trial….

Bring any hair accessories you wish to wear on the day. It gives us a good vision of how it will look and also where they will sit in the style.

Please feel free to bring a friend or family member with you. It always helps to have somebody who knows you to give their opinion.

On the day of the trial…..

The whole point of having a Bridal trial is for you and your chosen Hair stylist to know what works and what doesn’t for the Bride.

Do not think that your stylist will be offended if you ask for something to be altered or if you want to try something else. Believe it or not, it makes our jobs a whole lot easier if your honest about what you think ;).

I will take pictures of all of the styles from the trial and send them onto you.

I hope this blog has helped any of you Brides to be & to all of my Brides to be for 2018, I am so looking forward to doing your trials! Here are some pictures of my 2017 Brides (& just a few of the Bridesmaids) who I had the pleasure of doing hair for!

A WINTER WEDDING- KELLY

The lovely Kelly contacted me back in July about doing hair for her Bridal party. My wedding season had just finished so it was a pleasure to be able to it for them all.

Kelly came along for her Bridal trial on the 7th October and brought along her lovely mum Pam for her opinions on what would be her Bridal Hair style. First of all- Kelly was Hair Goals 🙌🏻. She had really long thick glossy dark hair so when she told me she wanted to have it chopped off after the wedding I was mortified!

Kelly knew that she wanted an updo and I couldn’t have agreed more with her having a November wedding. I got the impression that Kelly was going to be a classic bride, what I mean by this is that whatever Kelly chose or agreed on, was that it would be a timeless look that could be worn by Brides in years to come.

The chosen style was the first one I trialled. This is the one that I could see Kelly wearing- only having spoken to her for about 10 minutes. It doesn’t take me long to get an image of what kind of Bride and ‘look’ a bride to be is going for.

Kelly came to me a few days before the wedding to have a luxury gel nail manicure, again she went very neat and classy- nothing too outragious which I think is perfect for a classy bride……remember less is more- with a bit of sparkle! And then we laughed when she told me she was meant to be sanding down items for the  wedding decor and I told her she can watch her husband to be doing it! Nothing was ruining the Bride’s nails!

She also had her eyelashes enhanced by having some beautiful Classic Individual Eyelash extensions.

The day was finally here, Friday 10th November, Kelly’s Wedding day. Myself and the extremely talented MUA Melissa Lilly Sharp set off to Kelly’s friend’s house in Maidenbower to get them all Wedding ready!

Kelly was sipping on a Lemsip (Oh No!), and myself and Melissa got to work on glamming the Bridal party up! I started by Pin curling Kelly’s gorgeous long hair to give the style some texture- the prep is very important to a Hairstyle.

Then I started on the Bridesmaids who didn’t have a clue what to have. Kelly just told me an “updo, something similar but not the same as mine”. So I went for an updo that everybody loves and did a dutch braid chignon style- still keeping to the ‘classy’ theme. The Bridesmaids were also ‘Hair Goals’, with one of them having hair for days! I was in my element!

I then worked on Pam’s hair- Mother of the Bride. She showed me a lovely twisted updo that she liked so I started by smoothing and curling Pam’s hair. She has quite thick shoulder length hair which has a natural wavy curl so I wanted to make the style a bit more finished by smoothing it out.

Myself and Melissa (MUA) always work really well alongside eachother for time in getting them all ready. I could watch her do makeup all day, the results she gets and her knowledge about makeup are incredible!

It was time for the Bride to get the pincurls taken out and the wedding hair done! This is definately one of not just mine, but clients and Bride to be’s favourite hairstyles! It is amazing also how different you can make it look. For kelly I went for a more polished version of it.

And then we added the veil……..

And here are a few more lovely pictures I took of the morning ❤️

Kelly, it was so lovely doing hair for you and your lovely Bridal Party! Thankyou for choosing me to do it.

Wishing you and your family lots of Love, Luck & happiness for the future!
